When I first looked into applying for a green card, circumstances were not favorable at all. It seemed that I could not do anymore what I love doing most; contributing to the research efforts to develop the cure for diseases. Remembering the help you had given before with a visa situation, I turned to you. I am so glad that I did. My gratitude is beyond expression for you and everyone at your office who worked on my case and made it possible. I can not praise enough your impeccable work. Countless heartfelt thanks and deepest appreciation.”

I have had the pleasure of working with Hendrik on several different projects. Over the course of working with him, Hendrik has conducted himself as a skilled and personable attorney: he always responded quickly with clear answers to my client’s questions.

To this day, I refer any business immigration question to Hendrik as he commands a strong understanding of the subject matter and the ability to articulate clearly the multiple options available to clients.”

The law office of Ann Lipson took over my green card application in January 2006 after I received a request for further evidence (RFE) on my NIW application submitted through another law office. The RFE needed to be addressed rapidly and required a focused and extensive resubmission. To this end Ms Lipson provides a very human face to an often anonymous and daunting process.

Most important amongst the RFE requirements (and what was lacking from my original application) was the selection of endorsers, and procurement of letters of endorsement from them. Ms Lipson diligently and expertly coordinated this resubmission and produced an impressive application that yielded a positive response within 7 days. I am thoroughly indebted to Ms Lipson and her office. Her knowledge and reinterpretation of my application was directly responsible for its success.

Ms Lipson is exceptionally knowledgeable, helpful, and efficient. She handled my difficult Green Card application from the very beginning. She evaluated all options and determined the best one for me. She helped me and guided me through the process of putting together the application as an “Outstanding Professor” and made it as clean and robust as it could be. She, as well as her excellent paralegal, Edward, followed the application process during its entire course, always ready to help me through all the steps, and ready to answer all my questions.

They have an exceptional experience in this field, and they always figure out a way through the intricacies of immigration policy and bureaucracy. Thanks to them, I happily received my Green Card without a problem. Ann is an awesome attorney, and an awesome and exceptionally pleasant person too, and I keep recommending her to all my friends.”

The amount of forms and figures required when applying for permanent residency in the U.S. can be very overwhelming but Ann’s professionalism, patience and knowledge of the system made my green card application a smooth ride. It is my great pleasure to provide comments about the quality of Ann Lipson’s work.  I came to this country on a J-1 visa without being subject to the two-year home residency requirement. Then, I transferred my J-1 visa to a different university program because the hosting professor promised me support for an H-1B visa and green card. On the first day I moved to the new program, I was given a new DS-2019 that subjected me to the two-year home residency requirement. I was very shocked about the visa officer’s decision, but she argued that the source of my salary came from the National Science Foundation (NSF) as a government agency and I would need to apply for a waiver if I wanted to switch to an H-1B visa. When we argued that I had not applied for an NSF grant and that the grant was not given to me because of the exchange program, the visa officer simply refused to correct her mistake.

I consulted with many prominent immigration firms across the country. Most were of the opinion that the University’s J-1 officer was right.  Fortunately, through her website, I discovered Ann as an attorney with extensive knowledge and experience about the complexities of the J-1 visa, especially the mistakes that university officials frequently make on the DS-2019 regarding “government funding” and the two-year home residency requirement.  Ann took the time to review my documents and designed a successful strategy.  Without any help from the international office at the university, she got a second advisory opinion that showed I am not subject to the two-year home residency requirement and therefore I  do not need a J-1 wavier.

I would strongly recommend Ann L. Lipson for anyone who has problems with their J-1 visa and who may (or may not!) need a waiver.
